Jessie Schiewe (pronounced “shee-wee”) is the music editor for SF Weekly.

Portrait of this journalist when she’s writing an article.

She has written articles for LA Weekly, OC Weekly, Noisey/VICE, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Observer, Salon, Complex, The East Bay Express, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Oakland Tribune, and Thought Catalog, among other publications. In the spring of 2013, she received her Masters in Journalism from the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley (here’s her alumni profile) and she has two Bachelors of Arts degrees from Wesleyan University.

She writes the bulk of her articles with a 7-pound chihuahua on her lap and has portion control issues when around gummy bears.
